Dr. Doumas is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty interest in the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. He has achieved the Subspecialty Certificate for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Doumas is currently in private practice with University Orthopaedic Associates, located in Somerset, NJ and Wall, NJ. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and actively involved in academic training of the orthopedic residents at Rutgers Medical School. He is currently Chief of Hand Surgery at Jersey Shore Medical Center for 3 years. He has an entrepreneurial spirit and have recently launched two online web companies. One of these is trying to give doctors the opportunity to take back control of providing online medical information. This is a global health care initiative to improve how patients understand their health through increased health literacy, along with providing peer-reviewed and accurate online medical information. The goal is to educate the public and publicize the physicians who have an interest in educating the public.
