Christopher Lars Johnsrude MD FACC, FAAP

Summary

• Dr. Johnsrude is Professor of Pediatrics (University of Louisville) and director of the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease Electrophysiology Program. He completed residency at Cincinnati Children’s, then pediatric cardiology and electrophysiology fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine. In 2002, he was recruited to Louisville from the Feinberg School of Medicine (Northwestern University) where he directed the pediatric cardiology training program, to also serve as adjunct Associate Professor at University of Kentucky School of Medicine. Dr. Johnsrude served as chief of the division of Pediatric Cardiology and co-director of the Heart Center at Norton Children’s Hospital 2008-2017. He has served as visiting professor, invited lecturer, and moderator at regional and national scientific sessions, and been active in local and multi-center research projects, authored and co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, and co-authored a book on pediatric electrocardiograms. He is recognized as a Fellow by the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and the American College of Cardiology (FACC). In 2025, he received the Honorable Maestro Award from the American College of Cardiology (Kentucky Chapter).P
