Dr. Christopher Zimmermann is a general surgeon located in Fort Collins, CO, specializing in minimally invasive foregut, bariatric, and abdominal wall reconstruction surgery. He is also an advanced surgical endoscopist, performing third space interventions such as POEM and POP, as well as a variety of endoscopic suturing procedures and complex leak and fistula management. He completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in 2015, followed by a surgical residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics from 2015 to 2022 during which time he spent two years focused on research in decision making for high risk patients and completed a fellowship in clinical medical ethics at the University of Chicago. He further advanced his training in GI minimally invasive surgery, surgical endoscopy, bariatrics, and abdominal wall reconstruction at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, IL (now Endeavor Health). Dr. Zimmermann has engaged in research concerning surgical decision-making and ethics, acid reflux disease, and obesity, and holds an employment position at UCHealth since 2023. Experienced in hospice and palliative medicine as well as the surgical and endoscopic management of various gastrointestinal conditions, he has contributed to multiple publications in reputable surgical journals.
