  • Daniel Derksen, MD, is a board certified Family Medicine physician based in Tucson Arizona. He graduated from the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson in 1984 and completed his Family Medicine residency at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in 1987, and served as faculty there until 2012. Since 2012, he has been a tenured professor at the University of Arizona Health Sciences (UAHS) with academic appointments in the Colleges of Public Health, Medicine & Nursing. He is the UAHS Associate Vice President for Rural Health Workforce Development Initiatives, directs the Arizona Center for Rural Health and serves as senior advisor for the Arizona Area Health Education Center (AzAHEC) Program.
