David Alan Bloom MD

• David Bloom, MD, is a urologist based in Ann Arbor, MI, with a subspecialty in pediatric urology. He completed his surgical and urology residencies at UCLA School of Medicine/UCLA Medical Center after graduating in 1971 from the State University of New York Medical School at Buffalo. He trained in general surgery and urology at the University of California Los Angeles and in London, England at the Institute of Urology. He served in the US Army at Walter Reed Medical Center as a Lt. Colonel and Associate Professor at the Uniformed Services of Health Sciences. At the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor he became Chief of Pediatric Urology, Professor of Urology, Associate Dean of the Medical School, and Chair of the Department of Urology. He has been a trustee and vice president of the American Board of Urology. He has been an officer of a number of other urology organizations. Bloom served on the Board of the Hamilton Community Health Network in Flint, Michigan. His recent publications focus on pediatric urology, surgical ethics, and medical history. Dr. Bloom has been recognized in Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
