Active duty US Navy from 1985 until 2000 (Uniformed Services University, overseas deployment with USMC, then Navy residency, followed by operational deployments and academic positions with USN). Since 2000, I have been in a full-time civilian private practice setting, dividing my time among multiple inpatient and outpatient facilities, in addition to overseas charity surgical missions. I am currently considering career options with various charitable non-governmental organizations, as well as locum tenens and part-time positions which will allow me to maintain my skill set.
