- Dennis Dorf, DO, is a board-certified physician; a pediatrician and psychiatrist specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry based in GA and NY. He completed both his general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the world-renowned Medical College of Georgia (MCG), where he also served as Chief Resident/Fellow. MCG is one of the oldest medical schools in the nation, with one of the largest graduate medical education programs in the country. Before specializing in psychiatry, he completed a pediatrics residency at the Brooklyn Children's Hospital of SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he focused on developmental and behavioral pediatrics, adolescent community health, and child advocacy. Dr. Dorf earned his medical degree from NYIT College Of Osteopathic Medicine and Maimonides Medical Center's prestigious regional clinical campus program. His medical education was also complemented by clerkships at NYU Langone, Northwell Health, and NYC H+H. Moreover, he completed internships in Psychiatry and Pediatric Hospital Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center and Maimonides Children’s Hospital, respectively. Along with SUNY Downstate, Maimonides is Brooklyn’s only dedicated children’s hospital and pediatric trauma center. Maimonides is a teaching affiliate and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate. Additionally, he holds a Master of Public Health with an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Health Communications from Stony Brook University School of Medicine & Journalism's Center for Communicating Science. Currently, he works as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at WellStar MCG Health and was previously a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center. He has also interned at the NYS Health Foundation as a Public Health Communications Officer. His published work includes research on metabolic monitoring in children, media effects on psychogenic illness, and improving adolescent mental health.
