Derek Bair MD FAAP

Summary

• Dr. Derek Bair is a neonatologist based in Dearborn, MI. He completed his medical degree at Wright State University School of Medicine in 1986, followed by a pediatrics residency at the University of Toledo and a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. In 1994 he joined Oakwood Hospital NICU, and in 2001 he became the Director of Neonatology - Oakwood through various mergers is now Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital. He has held the same position at Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital since 2009 and became Regional Director of Neonatology for Corewell Health East Division in 2023. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Instructor at the University of Michigan University Health Service. Dr. Bair has chaired the Michigan Dept of Health and Human Services Newborn Screening Technical Advisory Committee since 2001. Dr. Bair has authored publications in Pediatric Research and is recognized as a Fellow by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
