  • Dr. Patel is a practicing Emergency Physician in Los Angeles who specialises in Emergency Medical Systems (EMS). He has a passion for clinical education, health systems innovation and the restoration of healing and wellness in medicine. He is also a physician for the Los Angeles County Urban Search and Rescue Team, one of only two FEMA teams in the country that embarks on international search and rescue aid operations on behalf of the US Government. He completed his residency and fellowship training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was also chief resident, prior to obtaining advanced training from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Dr Patel grew up in Kenya, where he was involved in rescue efforts during the US Embassy Bombing in 1998, before going on to obtain his undergraduate and masters degree from Oxford University in the UK.
