Dr. Grunvald is the founder and medical director of the Center for Advanced Weight Management, a component of UCSD Bariatric and Metabolic Institute. With extensive experience in nutrition, obesity pharmacotherapy, and bariatric surgery, he is passionate about applying combination evidence-based therapies to treat the chronic metabolic disease of obesity. Dr. Grunvald has published on topics of lifestyle interventions, anti-obesity medications, bariatric surgery, and obesity medicine education. He has also developed multiple education interventions at the UCSD School of Medicine.
