Dr. Edward Rippel is a Board Certified Internist in Hamden, CT and is affiliated with Yale-New Haven Hospital. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College and has been in practice 33 years. He also speaks several languages, including Spanish and Italian. He is experienced in Hypertension, Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Diabetes, and Cerebrovascular disease. In his previous position as owner of his own practice. Dr. Rippel, as a solo provider, achieved the highly coveted recognition of Patient Centered Medical Home from NCQA. As it had been previously considered impossible to achieve this in solo practice, this resulted in Dr. Rippel being named Physician of the Year by Business New Haven Magazine in 2011. He went on to achieve this recognition again in 2013, 2016, and 2019.
In addition, Dr. Rippel has received repeated recognition from NCQA in their Diabetes and Heart/Stroke Recognition Programs. In 2019, Dr. Rippel became the first provider in Connecticut to be recognized by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a Hypertension control Champion.
