Summary
- My name is Eithan Kotkowski, and I am a neurology resident and qualified medical Spanish interpreter at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. I graduated from the South Texas Medical Scientist Training Program at UT Health San Antonio with a distinction in Medical Humanities in the Spring of 2021 and obtained my PhD in the Radiological Sciences' Neuroscience Imaging Track in the Spring of 2019. My PhD dissertation focused on identifying neuroanatomical biomarkers for cognitive decline related to insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in human subjects. I am also actively involved in teaching Medical Spanish to students and residents at the UT Health Science Center. As a former dual language elementary school teacher and certified medical Spanish interpreter, I believe very deeply in improving the cultural and linguistic competency of health professionals.
