  • Dr. Elise Olsen is Professor of Dermatology and Hematologic Malignancies at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. She trained in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina and in Dermatology at Duke University. She is the founder and Director of the Hair Disorders and the Cutaneous Lymphoma Research and Treatment Centers. She has been President of the International Society for Cutaneous Lymphoma, the United States Cutaneous Lymphoma Consortium (USCLC), the American Hair Research Society (AHRS) and the Southeastern Consortium for Dermatology. She is the first author on key trisociety international guideline papers on cutaneous lymphoma and founded the USCLC Registry for Cutaneous Lymphomas. She has published two textbooks on hair (Hair Disorders: Diagnosis and Treatment) and multiple papers on assessment techniques for pattern hair loss, alopecia areata. and cicatricial alopecia. She has received recognition by the International League of Dermatologic Societies for her work in hair loss and is the recipient of the David Whiting Research Award of the AHRS. She has been the PI on over 170 clinical trials. She is an honorary member of the American Academy of Dermatology and has been recognized as one of America's Top Doctors and America's Top Doctors for Cancer.
