  • Dr. Benjamin is Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine Jay and Louise Coffman Professor in Vascular Medicine, School of Public Health Professor of Epidemiology, and the inaugural Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine interim Associate Dean for Faculty Development. A Framingham Study investigator and Boston Medical Center cardiologist, she is an international leader in the epidemiology atrial fibrillation. She has been continuously NIH funded since 1998 on grants related to atrial, vascular function, inflammation, mobile health, and chronic pain with an H-index ~220 and >900 publications. An Association of American Physicians Member, she has won national awards for research, education, mentoring, and diversity. In 2025 she received the American Heart Association Braunwald Academic Mentorship award and an Honorary Doctorate in Medical Science from Aalborg University, Denmark. She founded and co-led ~7 longitudinal faculty development programs at Boston University Medical Campus and has a deep commitment to mentoring, sponsoring, and coaching faculty.
