Summary

  • I am a board certified interventional cardiologist specialized in performing coronary and peripheral interventions. I have achieved a level of excellence in these procedures and serve as the Director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at Baylor St. Lukes Medical Center.
    I have had a long-term interest in research and after founding the Stem Cell Center at the Texas Heart Institute in 2000 have developed stem cell treatments for cardiovascular disease over the last 15 years. I am a worldwide leader in stem cell therapy for heart failure and widely published in the field.
    My institutional leadership lead to my appointment as Medical Director of the Texas Heart Institute in 2018.
