• I'm a Board Certified Emergency Physician and healthcare consultant.
  
  My areas of expertise include: healthcare operations redesign, hospital change management, physician group management, strategic business development, HIT application and optimization, as well as human factors-based medical device design and manufacturing.
  
  My company and I have been providing strategic consulting services to hospitals and other healthcare entities in the U.S. and abroad for over a decade.
  
  In my consulting practice we teach and help apply several operations reengineering concepts and methods like Lean, Six-Sigma, Queuing Theory, Theory of Constraints, and operations science for healthcare operations and logistics optimization.
  
  We are also experts in hospital change management and we are regularly called in to assist Hospitals and other consulting firms, with some of their most complex healthcare initiative implementations (specially when management and facilitation of multidisciplinary clinical and administrative hospital internal teams is required to achieve success).
  
  I've also been involved in the implementation, application and optimization of most major EHR/HI systems including Meditech, Cerner, Epic, MedHost, EMPower, McKesson, Awarix, Medipac, MobiLab and Teletracking among others. Although I don't possess a healthcare informatics background, my hospital operations optimization consultancy has by necessity required me to become adept at extracting the most functionality possible from current hospital IT systems, work-around any intrinsic decreases in clinician efficiency from the use of these systems, and become an expert in the integration of clinical workflows with hospital IT systems for maximum leveraged clinician and patient flow efficiencies.
