Summary

  • Leading the charge in pediatric education, training, and quality, my tenure at PM Pediatrics has been dedicated to innovative medical training and clinical standards. We pioneered the Pediatric Urgent Care Fellowship and a first-of-its-kind Provider Training Program, equipping >200 physicians and advanced practice providers with the skills to deliver exceptional care at the largest pediatric urgent care in the country. Our team's efforts have established more than 50 clinical practice guidelines reinforced with industry-leading quality and safety metrics, setting new benchmarks for pediatric care nationwide. We developed a competency-based training model, designed to distill complex medical knowledge/procedures into a structured learning experience for providers of varying experience. This model was supplemented by an innovative outpatient critical care training program (termed "RESCUE"), ensuring our providers were prepared for patients of any acuity. Incorporating extensive pediatric emergency medicine/urgent care experience, along with a passion for education and training, has elevated our program into a model that can be extrapolated to any medical practice.

We have converted our robust internal clinical standards into external educational offerings, including the first-ever Pediatric Urgent Care Conference, the PM Pediatric Urgent Care Webinar series, and competency standards for the American Academy of Pediatrics, currently incorporated by Pediatric Urgent Care Fellowship programs throughout the country.

In addition to training standards, we developed a stepwise approach to infectious disease preparedness, allowing our institution and many others to continue delivering necessary care during the COVID-19 pandemic, measles, and other outbreaks.

By focusing on integrating clinical standards, quality, and safety into everyday practice, my work has positioned PM Pediatric Care as a beacon in pediatric acute care.
