Summary

  • Dr. Eric I. Yun, MD completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia, graduating with highest distinction and election to the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. During his undergraduate years, he was a Howard Hughes Fellow and conducted research at the National Institutes of Health in the Division of NINDS.

    He went on to earn a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the UCD before matriculating at Drexel University College of Medicine, where he obtained his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).

    Dr. Yun completed his Emergency Medicine internship at Los Angeles County Medical Center in South Central Los Angeles, followed by a residency in Emergency Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens / Weill Cornell Medicine. He then pursued and completed a Fellowship in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine at the University of California, San Diego.

    Throughout his career, Dr. Yun has held academic appointments within both the University of California system and NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia-Cornell.

    He currently serves as the Chief of Emergency Medicine at the Northport VA Medical Center, where he is also the Site Director for the Stony Brook Emergency Medicine Residency Program and the EMS Director of the Northport VA.
