Overview of Dr. Akture
Erinc Akture, MD, is a dual fellowship trained neurosurgeon with special clinical interest in open cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery (aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, cavernous angiomas, carotid stenosis, surgeries and interventions for stroke, moyamoya disease and cerebral bypass), surgeries of skull base tumors (meningiomas, acoustic neuromas, chordomas, pituitary tumors), complex brain tumors involving deep and highly functional regions of the brain and spinal cord (gliomas and metastatic tumors) and spine surgery (herniated discs, spinal stenosis and spinal tumors). Dr Akture received his medical degree from Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical School in Turkey, before going on to complete a neurosurgery residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT. He then completed fellowship training in cerebrovascular and neuro-interventional surgery at Baptist Neurological Institute in Jacksonville, FL and skull base surgery at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. He speaks English and Turkish.
