- I am Board Certified in Cardiology and Internal Medicine, earning my Medical Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I completed my Internal Medicine Residency at the Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago and Cardiology Fellowship at the Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. I am a Dipomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Diseases. I am a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Societies.
Areas of interest include acute DVT intervention, endothermal ablation treatment of chronic venous insufficiency, and endovenous treatment of chronic deep venous disease ( Ilio caval compression - May Thurner Syndrome ) and Post Thrombotic Syndrome.
In the office setting, I am skilled in endovenous laser ablations, ambulatory phlebectomy and visual and ultrasound guided sclerotherapy for treatment of venous insufficiency and venous ulcers and work closely with local wound clinics in my area. I have done well over 2000 endovenous laser ablations. I am proficient in reading venous ultrasounds.
In the hospital setting, I am skilled in doing acute deep vein thrombophlebitis ( DVT ) intervention with catheter directed thrombolysis and pharmacomechanical thrombolysis ( Angiojet, Trellis, and Ekos devices) as well as placement and retrieval of Inferior Vena Caval Filters. I have also expertise in interventional treatment of deep vein pathology ( May Thurner Syndrome and Post Thrombotic Syndrome and Chronic Thrombophlebitis) for treatment of the chronically swollen limb with angioplasty and stenting of Iliac veins and Inferior Vena Cava. I am skilled in use of intravascular ultrasound ( IVUS ) for diagnosis of deep vein pathology. I have done well over 500 cases of May Thurner Syndrome and PostThrombotic Syndrome.
