Fernando Zalduondo MD

Summary

• Dr. Fernando Zalduondo is a radiologist with a subspecialty in neuroradiology, based in Guaynabo, PR. He completed his medical education at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, followed by training at several institutions including Sutter Health/California Pacific Medical Center and Duke University Hospital.
  
  Dr. Zalduondo is the founder, president, and medical director at San Patricio MEDFLIX, a position he has held since 2001. Besides neuroradiology, he was first to introduce a power injector for MRA studies, breast MRI, CT Coronary Calcium Scoring, hybrid PET-CT imaging, beta amyloid and protein tau imaging in collaboration with neurologists and psychiatrists and a major pharmaceutical company, and portal internet access to referring physicians and patient's imaging studies in Puerto Rico.
  
  He has presided and advanced all radiology organizations in Puerto Rico spearheading the merger of the Sociedad Radiologica de PR with the PR Chapter of the ACR.
  
  He has several publications in reputable journals and few textbooks and has earned CMS Meaningful Use certifications in 2013, 2014, and 2017 and multiple local recognition awards.
  
  Dr. Zalduondo has forged multiple long standing successful alliances with the local sports world including Olympic Committee (in the past) and the major professional basketball league (BSN), baseball, and soccer teams, among others.
  
  High school, medical school, residents, and tecnologists of various local institutions have performed rotations under his supervision.
  
  He has also organized various educational symposia throughout the years hold in San Patricio MEDFLIX with CME credits for the local medical community, most recently on August 2025 on hot topics on PET-CT.
