Overview of Dr. Leversedge
Dr. Fraser Leversedge is Professor and Chief of the Section of Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is Co-Director of the Brachial Plexus and Peripheral Nerve Injury Program and Associate Director of the University of Colorado Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery Fellowship. He is Board Certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds his Subspecialty Certification for Surgery of the Hand. His primary practice locations include the Anschutz Medical Center / University of Colorado Hospital and the Inverness / Steadman Hawkins Clinic. He received his medical degree from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth (1995), and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Emory University (2000) and his Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis (2001). He was in private practice at Hand Surgery Associates in Denver Colorado from 2001-2009 before accepting a position as Associate Professor and Vice-Chair, Education., for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University where he was in practice from 2009-2020 before returning to Colorado and his current role. He specializes in the care of peripheral nerve injuries as well as conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and elbow such as tendon injuries, fractures and ligament injuries, arthritis, and Dupuytren contracture. He is experienced in sports medicine having been a site physician for the 2004 and 2010 Olympic Games and he is a consulting hand surgeon for many of the professional teams in Denver.
