  • Fredric Kraemer, MD is a Stanford-based endocrinologist specializing in diabetes and lipid metabolism. He completed his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Stanford University and his residency at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University following his graduation from New York University School of Medicine in 1974. He has been on the faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine since 1983 and is currently the Gerald M. Reaven MD Professor of Endocrinology, Emeritus, having served as the Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Gerontology and Metabolism for over 20 years. He was previously a Staff Physician at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System from 1988-2024. His research interests include diabetes mellitus, lipid metabolism disorders, and related cellular processes. Dr. Kraemer has authored over 200 publications in reputable journals and has participated in clinical trials.
