  • Dr. Gabayan is a board certified emergency physician and health services researcher. She is a two-time valedictorian (both high school and college) and is an expert in her field.
    Dr. Gabayan obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Education from UCLA College of Letters and Science. She went on to obtain her Medical Doctorate degree from UCLA. She completed her emergency medicine residency training at UCLA where she served as Chief Resident. Following residency, she completed a health services research fellowship with the VA/UCLA where she obtained a Masters in Science in Health Services Research. Following residency, she was recruited to UCLA to serve as Assistant Professor and is now an Associate Professor.
    She has an international reputation in her field and is an expert on geriatric emergency care as well as outcomes following the emergency department. During her tenure as UCLA Assistant Professor, she published numerous impactful manuscripts and averaged over one first author manuscript per year. She is the recipient of numerous awards and grants including the 2013 American Geriatric Society New Investigator Award.
    In addition to her academic success, she sits on the board of the UCLA Medical Alumni Association and is a revered reviewer for numerous high-impact journals including the British Medical Journal. She is an engaging speaker and has given speeches at notable events with audiences of 4-5 thousands individuals.
    She is currently a UCLA Associate Professor.
