• I was educated at North Carolina State University, received my medical degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, and completed a family medicine residency at the University of Virginia where I served as chief resident. I received a certificate of added qualifications in sports medicine the first year the certification was offered. I am a senior Aviation Medical Examiner. I have practiced Family Medicine in Brevard North Carolina since 1976, 47 years. I serve on the Transylvania Regional Hospital board of trustees, the credentials committee and the medical executive committee at the hospital. I am a private pilot, fly a Cirrus SR 22. Paula, my wife of 57 years, is a life coach and a spiritual director. Our two children and five grandchildren live in Brevard also. George and family are in New Orleans. Life is good.
