  • Dr. Cadena-Forney is a physician dual board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. She graduated from Universidad de La Sabana Medical School in Colombia in 2001, completed a Pediatrics internship at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, and finished her Family Medicine residency at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore in 2006.

    She practiced family medicine for 15 years with Providence Medical Group in Snohomish, Washington, and worked per diem in Providence urgent care clinics. Her interest in addiction medicine began in 2016 while working weekends at the Providence Detoxification Unit in Everett. She later joined ICCS, the Stillaguamish Tribe’s opioid treatment program in Arlington, focusing on methadone and buprenorphine treatment. In 2021, she transitioned to full-time addiction medicine and became Medical Director of ICCS, while continuing to provide coverage at the Providence Detoxification Unit.

    In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Cadena-Forney provides medical expertise in addiction-related legal cases, with a focus on standards of care, causation, and treatment. She has also served as a medical consultant for the Spanish new program Univision Seattle, and has been the Medical Director of the Pregnancy Resource Clinic of Snohomish County since 2015. She is bilingual and fluent in Spanish.

    In her free time, Dr. Cadena-Forney enjoys spending quality time with her family and traveling to places with sunny weather and blue skies.
