• Dr. Gopika Gangupantula is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM), Diplomate of American College of Diabetology and Board Certified Family Practice Physician in Modesto, CA. She received her Fellowship in Diabetes from East Carolina University and completed her residency from St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Chicago in Family Practice.   For more than 20 years, Dr. Gopika Gangupantula has served Modesto and the Central Valley with a practice centered on advanced diabetes care, obesity management, and prevention. At her clinic, she precepts Family Medicine residents and mentors regional NP/PA trainees in hands-on, technology-enabled diabetes care, including CGMs and insulin therapy optimization. In addition to her clinical teaching, Dr. Gangupantula is an Assistant Professor at Touro University, where she lectures on Diabetes and helps prepare the next generation of clinicians to manage complex metabolic disease.

Valley Diabetes & Obesity was named the Modesto Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year for 2022. The practice was also a 2024 Best in Modesto Community Choice Award winner.
