Overview of Dr. Fernandez-Ranvier
I am a board-certified fellowship trained surgeon in endocrine, metabolic and minimally invasive surgery. My specialization entails caring for patients with different endocrine diseases and obesity with their associated metabolic disorders. This includes diseases of the parathyroid, thyroid, adrenal glands, and the gastrointestinal tract. Because these conditions are often complex, I work closely with colleagues specializing in internal medicine, endocrinology, nutrition, medical oncology, radiology, gastroenterology, psychology among and pathology among others, to deliver state-of-the-art multidisciplinary care. One of my current focuses and interest has been on how best to treat patients with minimally invasive procedures. I perform a novel scarless approach through the mouth for the treatment of thyroid (TOETVA) and parathyroid (TOEPVA) tumors and we have successfully treated with this approach many local and international patients to date. I also treat different intra-abdominal and abdominal wall (hernias) diseases including the esophagus, stomach, gallbladder, pancreas, the small intestine and the colon. I provide excellent quality surgical service with a geographical reach of my referral base not only to the local community of the great New York state, but to other states in the nation as well as the Internationally community.
