Summary

• I am a certified pediatric nurse practitioner. I received my undergraduate bachelor’s of nursing degree at the University of Virginia with a minor in Spanish. I worked as a pediatric critical care nurse at the University of Virginia Health System as a new graduate nurse and obtained my CCRN certification. I continued my nursing studies at Columbia University and graduated with a Master in Science degree from the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. During my studies, I traveled to the Dominican Republic to work in La Romana to serve at a women and children’s health clinic. We worked to educate patients on preventative health including HIV prevention and family planning. My professional career continued when I joined the Program for Pediatric Cardiomyopathy, Heart Failure, and Cardiac Transplantation. I am in charge of managing our pediatric heart transplant transition of care clinic where I oversee the coordination of patient care to the adult side. I am a current committee member of the International Pediatric Transplant Association, being appointed to a two year position serving on the Allied Health and Nursing Professionals Committee.
