Summary

  • Dr. Taliaferro is a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon who is a married father of two, originally from St. Petersburg, Florida. He has nearly 20 years of clinical experience in orthopaedics and was trained at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. His clinical interests include shoulder and elbow surgery and sports medicine serving as a former consultant for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Football team. He also has specialties in hip arthroscopic surgery, Makoplasty (robotic assisted joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee), reverse total shoulder replacement, and minimally invasive endoscopic carpal tunnel release. He is a decorated veteran of the United States Navy, and inductee of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He completed an eight month deployment with the U.S. Marines in Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom as a combat orthopaedic surgeon in 2007, and successfully spent an additional four years in private practice in southeastern Connecticut prior to coming back to Maryland. His patient care philosophy is to listen thoroughly to your concerns, educate and explain in the simplest terms your condition or injury pattern, and take ample time to answer any questions that you may have. He believes this facilitates a high level of care and leads to satisfied patients. Dr. Taliaferro provides high quality orthopaedic care to his patients.
