She completed her medical degree at Damascus University, followed by a pediatrics residency at Henry Ford Hospital/Wayne State University and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at UPMC Medical Education. Dr. Mousa served as Director of Neurogastroenterology and Motility and Clinical Director of Gastroenterology at Rady Children’s Specialists of San Diego from 2015 to 2020. She has published research on topics like gastroesophageal reflux in youth with cystic fibrosis, gastric electrical stimulation, and pediatric tube weaning. She has conducted clinical trials and received numerous awards, including the NASPGHAN Motility Prize and the Faculty Development Award from Rady Children's Hospital, UCSD.
