- Dr. Henkie Tan is an adult and pediatric multiorgan transplant surgeon based in Pittsburgh, PA, with subspecialties in hepatobiliary surgery, having performed several thousands kidney pancreas and liver transplantation, and minimally invasive surgery. He completed his Medical Scientist Training (MSTP MD/PhD) at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he undertook a Ph.D. in Microbiology/Immunology before completing his surgical residency and an adult and pediatric ASTS multiorgan transplant surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. Since 2014, he has served as the Surgical Director of Kidney Transplantation at Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System and previously held academic positions including Associate Professor of Surgery, Surgical director of Living Donor Kidney Transplantation and Surgical director of Pancreas transplantation at UPMC Presbyterian.
