Overview of Dr. Ellis
Henry B. Ellis, M.D. is an associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and the director of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He also serves as the medical director of clinical research at Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Ellis is a founding member and former treasurer of the Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society and recently served as president of the Texas Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Ellis is affiliated with several leading institutions, including UT Southwestern Medical Center, Scottish Rite for Children, and Children's Medical Center Dallas. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School and completed fellowships in both pediatric orthopaedics and sports medicine.
Specializing in the care of young athletes, his expertise includes anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction, hip arthroscopy, and treatment of osteochondritis dissecans and other musculoskeletal conditions. His clinical and research efforts aim to advance care for this population and improve outcomes in and prevention of pediatric sports injuries.
