Summary
- Dr. Steinman is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. He graduated from Pomona College and received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He has expertise in managing complications associated with Mohs surgery, dermatologic surgery, chemical peels, dermal fillers, and Botox and provides Mohs surgery, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology expertise in both Plaintiff and Defendant cases.
He completed his dermatology residency at the University of California, San Diego and St. John’s Hospital for Diseases of the Skin in London, UK. He then completed his Mohs surgery and dermatologic surgery fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Thereafter, he became a diplomate of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Steinman has over 30 years’ experience in dermatologic surgery, cosmetic dermatology and Mohs surgery, and has completed over 30,000 Mohs surgery cases. He has co-edited two Mohs surgery textbooks, written 13 textbook chapters 45 scientific papers in journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, British Journal of Medicine, JAMA Dermatology, Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of Investigative Dermatology.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He also co-founded and served as president of the American Society for Mohs Surgery and co-created and co-directed their annual Fundamentals of Mohs Surgery Course for 25 years.
Dr. Steinman has taught residents Mohs surgery, dermatologic surgery and cosmetic dermatology at the University of California, San Diego and as Director of Mohs and Dermatologic Surgery at Texas A&M School of Medicine. He currently is an associate professor of surgery at Campbell University School of Medicine. Dr. Steinman has spoken dozens of times at national dermatology meetings on topics related surgical and cosmetic dermatology.
