Dr. Hugh Hetherington, MD is an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist), facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon who has practiced in Bozeman, MT since 1997. He served 10 years in the Army Medical Corps, including an assignment to the teaching staff at Tripler Army Medical Center. He is the author of 9 scholarly publications and has been granted two patents for his invention of a unique medical device. Dr. Hetherington is on staff at Bozeman Deaconess Health Group in Bozeman, MT. Dr. Hetherington also currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD and as Adjunct Associate Professor of Medical Sciences at the WWAMI/Medical Science Program at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT.
In 2013, Dr. Hetherington co-founded Injection Technologies to commercialize his invention, the injection control device. Originally developed to facilitate fat grafting, the device may be used to distribute any fluid into a three-dimensional tissue matrix. The company aims to develop multiple applications of the device including synthetic filler injection and stem cell grafting.
