Hussen Amen MD

Summary

• I’m a board-certified family physician and the founder of Amen Family Medicine in Livonia, Michigan. I grew up in the area and completed my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food Science at Wayne State University before earning my MD from St. George’s University. I returned home to complete my residency training at Trinity Health Livonia, where I received extensive training in sports medicine, office-based procedures, and chronic disease management.
  
  My approach to medicine is deeply personal. As someone living with type 1 diabetes, I understand the day-to-day challenges of managing chronic conditions. I use that perspective to build strong, empathetic relationships with my patients—focusing on prevention, lifestyle, and long-term wellness.
  
  I care for patients of all ages, from children to seniors, and provide a wide range of services including in-house X-rays, ultrasound-guided joint injections, skin procedures, and more. I also enjoy staying involved in the community and have volunteered at numerous high school sporting events providing sideline medical coverage.
  
  I opened my own practice to offer accessible, timely, and comprehensive care in a modern, welcoming space—where patients feel heard and respected. My goal is to be a dependable partner in each patient’s health journey, helping them achieve real, lasting results.
