• Dr. Hyder Said is a gastroenterologist based in New York, NY, with subspecialty expertise in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He earned his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, graduating with distinction in research and service, and completed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (2023-2026), where he also served as Chief Fellow, before pursuing advanced IBD clinical and research training at Mount Sinai (2026 - 2027).
  
  
  Dr. Said has received multiple honors and research awards from the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and New York Community Trust.   His research focuses on the gut-brain-immune axis in IBD, with particular emphasis on circadian rhythms and sleep. His work aims to integrate these biologic insights with scalable digital approaches and non-pharmacologic strategies to optimize disease management and therapeutic response. He is supported by an NIH T32 fellowship in Investigative Gastroenterology and is concurrently pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Research Methods at the Columbia Mailman School of Public Health.
