Dr. Allan has a wide range of experience, including thoracic surgery of the lungs, esophagus, mediastinum, and chest wall. He is experienced in trauma and surgical critical care, lung transplantation, and surgery for palmar hyperhidrosis and malignant dysrhythmias. He has been an NIH-funded investigator for over 20 years in the area of transplant immunology, and is published in numerous prestigious journals. Dr. Allan chairs the Massachusetts General Hospital Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and is the chair of the Foundation for Biomedical Research. He is a Past-President of the American Society of Transplantation.
