• Dr. James Amster is a radiologist in Los Angeles County, specifically Long Beach CA. He has practiced in the Long Beach medical community for over 40 years.
  He was an intern and resident at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center in 1981 as part of his internship and residency at UCU Medical Center.   Dr. Amster specializes primarily in Neuroradiology, and in particular in Spine Radiology, having learned from and worked closely with Leon Wiltse, M.D., a pioneer in Orthopedic Spine Surgery, world renowned and professionally respected, in daily clinical practice for over 20 years.
  Dr. Amster specializes in advice for clinicians and patients in imaging evaluation and enjoys helping the uneducated, underserved and those who have been left behind.
  His grandfather Dr. J. Lewis Amster was a prominent General Surgeon in the Bronx in the 2oth century, dedicating his life to the the less fortunate and served briefly as the Health Commissioner of New York City in 1981, resigning because of the Mayor's pressure to do what Dr. Amster was not in the public's best interest.
