Summary

  • From a clinical standpoint, I am a general surgeon trained in abdominal organ transplantation including liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant. I have extensive experience managing surgical patients with end-stage organ disease including management of ascites, portal hypertension, vascular access, benign and malignant hepatobiliary tumors, abdominal hernias, and management of immunosuppression. I have particular expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques for complex hepatobiliary surgery including complex biliary and vascular reconstruction.

I have research interests that pertain to the management of hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma in patient with chronic liver disease in the setting of liver transplantation and liver directed therapies. From an educational standpoint, I am interested in innovation opportunities in surgical education and mentoring students and residents in the ever-changing educational environment that we are facing on an evolving basis.
