- Dr. Jawaid Shaw is currently a Senior Fellow in Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition based in Virgina Commonwealth University (VCU) at Richmond, VA. He attended medical school at Government Medical College, Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir, India) and further on completed Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from SKIMS, University in Kashmir, India. Since moving to US, he re-trained in Internal Medicine at Rochester General Hospital, NY. This was followed by a Masters in Clinical and Translational Research at VCU, Richmond, VA. His research work includes numerous publications, particularly in the fields of Hepatology, Gastroenterology & Medical Education with studies appearing in top journals such as Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Hepatology & American Journal of Gastroenterology etc. His scholarly work has also been cited by other publications, indicating ongoing contributions to his field.
He has been working in the academic field all along his career with unparalleled zeal. This has led to vigorous contributions on the clinical side and imparting bed side teaching for Medical Students, Interns and Residents alike.
