Summary

• Dr. Jay Mattheis is an ophthalmologist in Loma Linda, CA. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He specialized in cataract related, glaucoma related, and clinical pharmacology and is experienced in glaucoma and related disorders, cataract surgery, glaucoma, general / comprehensive ophthalmology, and dry eye disease. He had the opportunity to practice in Florida and Nevada as his career unfolded. In August 2021, he discontinued clinical practice and became Director of Peer Education, US Ophthalmics in Medical Affairs for Novartis Pharmaceuticals. In July of 2023 he joined Loma Linda University Eye Institute and was appointed Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Later that year he was also appointed as the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Riverside University Health System. He is happy to be involved in academic medicine as his career has come full circle.
