Jeffrey N. Hausfeld, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S., is a physician entrepreneur, biotechnology executive,
investor, and healthcare innovator whose career spans clinical medicine, life sciences, healthcare
real estate development, and entrepreneurial leadership. A graduate of Yale University School of
Medicine and recipient of an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Hausfeld is an Associate
Clinical Professor of Surgery at George Washington University and has been actively involved in
national medical societies and healthcare leadership organizations for more than four decades.
After a distinguished career in Otolaryngology and Facial Plastic Surgery, Dr. Hausfeld transitioned
from clinical practice to focus on healthcare innovation, company formation, strategic advisory
services, and healthcare investment. He is widely published in the medical literature, pioneered
innovative laser surgical techniques, authored a consumer-oriented book on sleep apnea, and has
appeared extensively in national and local media as a medical expert.
Dr. Hausfeld currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Medical Officer of BioFactura,
Inc., a biotechnology company focused on biosimilars, biodefense countermeasures, and advanced
biologic therapeutics. He also serves as Chairman of Capitol Biologics, a contract development and
manufacturing organization dedicated to protein-based therapeutics and cell therapy development.
In addition, he is President of Memory Care Communities LLC, which develops and operates
specialized assisted living communities focused on Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
Recognized as a leading advocate for physician innovation and entrepreneurship, Dr. Hausfeld is
Chairman and Co-Founder of the Society of Physician Entrepreneurs (SoPE), one of the world's
