Dr. Jacobs completed graduate school in molecular microbiology at Johns Hopkins and medical training at East Tennessee State University, followed by residencies at Vanderbilt and Yale, and fellowships in Transfusion Medicine at Yale and Special Coagulation at the Mayo Clinic.
