Overview of Dr. Joshi
Jitesh Joshi, MD, is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist with 12 years of independent clinical experience across academic-affiliated community oncology, rural medicine, clinical research, and multidisciplinary cancer care. He currently practices at Houston Methodist Clear Lake, where he serves as Medical Director of the Infusion Suite and cares for patients with solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and benign hematologic disorders.
Dr. Joshi has played a central role in the development of the Clear Lake cancer program. He chairs the Commission on Cancer Accreditation Committee, moderates the general oncology and breast multidisciplinary tumor boards, and contributes to systemwide clinical-performance, chemotherapy-stewardship, and quality-improvement initiatives. His work has focused on strengthening coordinated cancer care, integrating supportive services, and expanding access to high-quality oncology treatment and clinical research in the community setting.
As a sub-investigator with the Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center, Dr. Joshi has participated in more than 25 Phase I–III oncology clinical trials. His research responsibilities have included patient identification, trial discussions, screening and enrollment, protocol implementation, adverse-event monitoring, and longitudinal follow-up. He has authored or coauthored peer-reviewed publications and published abstracts in lymphoma, thoracic oncology, hematologic malignancies, and other areas of cancer care.
Before joining Houston Methodist, Dr. Joshi practiced in rural Arkansas, where he helped establish an outpatient oncology clinic and infusion services at Drew Memorial Hospital, a critical access hospital. He also served as teaching faculty for the UAMS South Central Family Medicine Residency.
His professional interests include community-based clinical research, improving access to trials for underserved populations, multidisciplinary cancer care, physician education and QI projects
