Summary

• Dr. Joel E. Schneider is an interventional cardiologist with UNC-Rex in Raleigh NC, part of the University of North Carolina Health Care System. He completed undergraduate and medical school at the University of North Carolina followed by Internal Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY and both Clinical and Interventional Cardiology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He returned to North Carolina in 1993 joining Wake Heart and Vascular Associates, a large cardiology group that became part of UNC Healthcare in 2010.
  
  In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Schneider has led several group and system level quality committees, including chairman of the NCHV Quality and Accountable Care Committee, Co-Chairman of the UNC H&V System Quality Outcome and Value Committee, and member of the UNC Care Transformation Committee. He is actively involved in teaching. Dr. Schneider is part of the faculty at UNC Healthcare serving as the site director for the UNC-Rex Interventional Cardiology Fellowship Program and Co-Chairman of the UNC System Training Committee.
