Summary
- I am a gastrointestinal surgeon specializing in minimally invasive foregut surgery of the esophagus, stomach and hepatobiliary tree. I am regularly referred complex re-do surgery of the foregut and including those involving hiatal hernias, achalasia, peptic ulcer disease procedures, etc. I have an NIH funded laboratory that studies the molecular pathogenesis of postoperative infections. I am the executive vice-chair of the department of surgery at the University of Chicago.
