Overview of  Dr. Bilezikian

Dr. John Bilezikian is an endocrinologist based in New York, NY, specializing in osteoporosis and bone metabolism with a subspecialty focus on parathyroid disorders. He completed his medical education at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, followed by residencies in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia Campus) and subspecialty training at the NIH. Dr. Bilezikian is experienced in the therapeutics of osteoporosis, parathyroid and other metabolic bone diseases. He is also an acknowledged thought leader in metabolic disorders associated with vitamin D metabolism. His CV lists over 950 full length peer-reviewed publications on the topics listed above. His involvement in clinical trials includes studies on primary hyperparathyroidism, hypoparathyroidism, vitamin D and osteoporosis. The many honors Dr. Bilezikian has received include two honorary PhD degrees, the Neuman, Rodan, and Bartter Awards of the ASBMR and the Distinguished Educator and Physician Awards from the Endocrine Society. .
