Dr. Engel holds the positions of Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Ophthalmology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He has authored publications on pediatric ophthalmology topics, including strabismus and congenital nerve palsies, some of which have been cited multiple times in other scholarly works. He has led workshops for pediatric ophthalmologists in adjustable suture techniques for strabismus in children and adults, which can reduce the need for subsequent procedures.
