Overview of Dr. Wang
John Wang, MD, an interventional cardiologist who practices in Baltimore, Maryland. He grew up in Baltimore and went to college at The University of Chicago. He completed medical school at The University of Chicago, The Pritzker School of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Wang then performed his internship, residency, general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. During his fellowship, Dr. Wang obtained his Masters of Science in Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Dr. Wang moved back to Baltimore in 2004 and has been at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital as the catheterization laboratory director since 2006. His clinical practice include: trans-radial catherterizations, complex coronary interventions, chronic total occlusions. In addition, Dr. Wang serves as the director of the structural heart program, and performs: transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), Mitraclip, Triclip, transcatheter mitral valve replacements (TMVR), transcatheter tricuspid valve replacements (TTVR), left atrial appendage occluders (LAAO), ASD/PFO closure, and alcohol septal ablations for hypertrophic cardiomyopathies. Dr. Wang also serves as the scientific director for Baltimore Cardiovascular Research and has been the prinicple investigator on nearly 100 clinical trials.
